In the summer of 2016 we took a team to Keyna to do ministry in the slums of Keyna, work with students at the Jacaranda School and hold services for the Jacaranda Church.Continue Reading No Comments
Happy New Year mamas!!! To start the New Year off we’re teaming up with Kevin West for our first blog post of the year. We all want to be the best moms we can be for our children. Sometimes that means we’re a referee. Sometimes that means we’re a nurse. At times we have to be a friend. And other times we have to be a teacher. Kevin’s latest post talks about teaching our children to be worshipers…
As parents, we need to have values for our families that we are instilling in our children. Without defining values you will never know what is important and what is not. And let’s face it, every parent needs to know what hill they are willing to die on, because our children will test everything.
One of the values every parent who follows Christ should be trying to instill in their children is worship. Often, people think of worship as merely singing. Singing can be worship, and is a great place to start, but worship is so much more. I write a lot about worship, so I won’t go into a lot about what worship is, but so that we are on the same page, let me quickly define it for us. Hopefully, this will help us as we define worship for our children…READ MOREContinue Reading No Comments
As moms we all have good intentions, but if we’re honest with ourselves, there is at least one area in our lives where we need to move past our good intentions and begin being intentional. Maybe it’s a friendship we’ve allowed the “life’s busy”excuse to ruin our best intentions. Or is it more personal? Is is a hobby or talent we’ve set up on the shelf until we have more time, or the kids get older? That shelf is getting layer upon layer of best intention dust, while that talent/hobby may be the very thing God is wanting to use most in our life. Our lists could go on and on-
*Being bolder in our faith
*One on one time with our kid(s)
*Limiting our time everyday on social media, do I dare say, even taking a break!
*Scheduling regular date nights with your hubby or maybe it’s just stopping what we’re doing when he gets home to greet him
*Making time everyday to spend with the Lord.
*Yelling less/talking more
*Praying more, worrying less
*10-15 minutes everyday for just YOU! And yes, the extra long time you spend in the bathroom with the door locked counts!
The area we really don’t want to be intentional in or will require more time or attention than we think we can give, may just be the area He is is waiting to do His best work. My encouragement and prayer for all us moms tonight is, try the area you KNOW you’ve felt that nudge in. It probably popped into your head a couple minutes after you starting reading this blog post. That’s the one, my friend.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil 4:13

Life….. at times seems to get so hectic/out of control. My mind spins like a ‘top’ trying to stand upright, not toggle over, spin many spins, stay in one place (not moving in 1000 directions), spinning on point.Continue Reading No Comments
